I have been fed up with being overweight for as long as I can remember & although at times I’ve felt quite low I’ve never had enough motivation to do anything about it. There have always been too many excuses … busy with the kids, no money, too tired etc. I was always promising myself ‘after the holiday’ or whatever.
I have never felt that enthused about keeping fit and if anyone had asked me if exercise was fun the answer would have been a resounding no. I was bullied into joining a boot camp by a much fitter friend and I was very nervous to join but can honestly say the instructors were lovely and didn’t judge totally putting me at ease with their enthusiasm.
So far I’ve lost 6”s from my waist, 5”s from my hips & 4”s from each thigh. The changes to my life have been more important than weight loss though. By the end of my first boot camp my energy levels had improved so much. I feel much more confident, I’ve made some new friends and being a mum of 2 girls under 3 I have really felt this has got me doing something for myself. I intend to stick with boot camp so that for the first time in my life I’m not going to feel terrible at the thought of summer clothes this year.
I love boot camp and I’m hooked. Every session is different and I’m amazed at how much fun it is. Having someone to spur me on has shifted my attitude and that’s been life changing.
